In the book Mythical Monsters by Charles Gould, a 6th century merchant/historian is quoted about the power of the unicorn which he had learned about on a trip to Ethiopia. He wrote, “It is impossible for this ferocious beast to be taken alive; and that all its strength lies in its horn. When it finds itself pursued and in danger of capture, it throws itself from a precipice, and turns so aptly in falling, that it receives all the shock upon the horn, and so escapes safe and sound.”

While the unicorn is curious, imaginative and resourceful, its ultimate power is in its ability to survive. Whenever a unicorn hits a difficult time in its life or even criticism from others for being itself, it simply turns its horn toward the negativity and lets the horn soak it in.

The unicorn’s horn is a like a sponge for the pain of adversity and insults. While others collapse at the first sign of resistance or at the first criticism they recieve, the unicorn is able to take that dark black negativity and turn it into a rainbow of awesome achievement.

So, while it may seem easier sometimes to hide the fact that you are a secret unicorn, know that being a unicorn and proudly displaying your single horn makes you almost invincible against everything: Disapproval, rejection, YouTube comments, betrayal, illness and failure. While these things will still happen to you, they will lose their power to deter you from your destiny.

You are a unicorn galloping forward on a rainbow path to the future, your horn proudly held aloft, both as a beacon to light the way and a guiding signal to those smart enough to follow you toward your ultimate glory!
